We’ve all been there: the alarm goes off, and you’re faced with the decision to get up and go to your Pilates class or hit the snooze button. The truth is, showing up for your workout is often the hardest part. It takes incredible effort and juggling to make it into the studio, and I don’t take that lightly. I am forever grateful to everyone who consistently shows up for class because I understand the commitment it takes!

Here’s why showing up is so challenging and some tips to make it a bit easier:

  1. Mental Hurdles: Our minds are masters at finding excuses. “I’m too tired,” “I’ll go tomorrow,” or “I have too much to do.” Don’t let these thoughts trick you into skipping your workout. Remind yourself of how great you’ll feel afterward and the progress you’re making.

  2. Preparation is Key: Lay out your workout clothes the night before. Having everything ready to go makes it easier to get up and head to the studio without thinking too hard about it.

  3. Accountability: Find a workout buddy or join a class where people know you. When someone is expecting you, it’s much harder to skip. Accountability partners can provide that extra push you need to show up.

  4. Routine: Make your workout a non-negotiable part of your schedule. Treat it like an important appointment that you can’t miss. Consistency is key to forming a habit.

  5. Positive Reinforcement: Reward yourself for showing up. It could be a small treat, a relaxing activity, or just the satisfaction of ticking it off your to-do list. Positive reinforcement helps reinforce the habit of showing up.

  6. Visualize Success: Picture yourself completing the workout and how accomplished you’ll feel. Visualization can be a powerful motivator.

Remember, every time you show up, you’re investing in your health and well-being. It’s a powerful act of self-care that has far-reaching benefits. Your effort to get to the studio doesn’t go unnoticed, and I am forever grateful for your commitment.

So, next time you’re tempted to skip, remind yourself of the incredible effort it took to get this far and the amazing benefits waiting for you. Show up, give it your all, and know that you’re doing something truly wonderful for yourself!
